Speech Therapist
Alabama Department of Education
Speech Language Pathologist
Conduct speech and language evaluations to assess students' communication skills by administering standardized tests to diagnose speech and language disorders.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with speech or language delays.
Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication development.
Monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy methods as needed.
Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights on student progress and needed adaptations.
Educate students and parents about speech-language development and strategies to support improvement.
Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Assist in the development of school-wide speech and communication initiatives.
Any other duties assigned by the building administrator or Director of Special Education.
