OR Assistant / Anesthesia Aide

Boulder Community Health is seeking an OR Assistant / Anesthesia Aide who participates in the pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative care of the patient under the direction of the RN. This includes patient and patient related transportation, direct patient care, supply distribution and cleaning.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• BLS certification required by end of 90 day conditional period

Responsibilities:

• Expedient turn overs of operating rooms between surgery cases
• Maintain clean, safe environment
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical asepsis in the handling of supplies and equipment
• Provides for patient comfort and safety while transferring
• Assists the RN in positioning of the patient when requested
• Acts as a team player while carrying out duties assigned
• Complies with all hospital, division and department policies and procedures
• Attends huddle and in-service programs to increase knowledge base
• Projects a positive image of the hospital within the community
• Promotes cost containment when maintaining supplies and equipment
