Phlebotomist

Location: Clifton Park, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Mon-Fri 7:30am - 4:30pm with every other Saturday 7am - 12:30pm | Compensation: Not specified Overview A clinical laboratory services employer is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment with potential for permanent placement. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, safe, and timely specimen collection and processing in support of patient care. What you'll do Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and complete decontamination procedures Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods (e.g., urine or fecal) Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles Fully understand and follow physicians' orders Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy Package specimens for transport, store samples at required temperatures, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, and follow protocol-specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to respond to inquiries Required qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required in some states Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or GED Compensation and benefits Benefits are available Why this role This contract position offers a projected duration of 3 months with the potential to become a permanent role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
