Operating Room Nurse Supervisor (RN) La Jolla, CA
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Supervisor (RN) to provide leadership and clinical support within a surgical services department. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who enjoy balancing patient care responsibilities with staff leadership, operational oversight, and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations within the surgical services department
- Support and coordinate staffing schedules, assignments, and workflow management
- Assist with performance evaluations, staff development, and coaching initiatives
- Promote compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure safe and effective patient care delivery throughout the surgical process
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Monitor quality outcomes and support patient safety initiatives
- Assist with patient flow, care coordination, and transitions across the continuum of care
- Participate in operational planning, process improvement, and departmental projects
- Provide direct patient care and clinical support as needed
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous operating room nursing experience required
- Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience required
- Perioperative nursing certification preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
