CAM Technician

Role Description The CAM Technician role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Poway, CA. In this role, the CAM Technician prepares, reviews, and modifies customer PCB design data for manufacturability using CAM and CAD tools, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and internal standards. Responsibilities typically include performing DFM checks, creating and adjusting tooling, photoplot, drill, and route programs, and generating manufacturing documentation and layer stack‑ups. The CAM Technician works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve design issues, optimize yields, and support on‑time delivery of prototype and production orders. Additional duties may include maintaining accurate data files, adhering to safety and quality procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of CAM workflows and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with PCB CAM/CAD tools (e.g., Genesis, CAM350, Altium, or similar) and the ability to interpret Gerber, ODB++, and drill files.
• Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, including HDI, rigid, flex, and rigid‑flex technologies, stack‑ups, and design for manufacturability principles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, fabrication notes, and customer specifications, with solid attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy and data management skills, including working with production documentation, job travelers, and revision control.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, production, and quality teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple jobs, meet tight deadlines, and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Prior experience as a CAM Technician or in PCB fabrication, engineering, or related technical roles is highly beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or coursework in electronics, PCB design, or manufacturing technology is a plus.
