Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced ER setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and the ability to handle complex patient cases effectively.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Evenings
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week rotation

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Beds/Triage Rooms: 12 beds + 1 triage room
• Average Patients Per Day: 88
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4 on average, flexible to 1:6 for Urgent Care patients
• In-house Security: Yes, 1 guard available 24/7
• Common Diagnoses: Mix of emergency and urgent care cases

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in a dynamic emergency room environment.
• Assist with triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity and urgency.
• Manage patient holds and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely transfers.
• Perform nursing duties in emergency procedures and respond to critical situations effectively.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC.

• Orientation: On-site training with shadowing and online modules provided.
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major holiday in summer and 1 in winter.
• Floating Requirements: Potential to float between facilities based on volunteer availability.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Black scrubs.
