Senior Engineer - Warhead/Lethality

Responsibilities Apply or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to warhead integration into missile systems. Involve in both development and production programs across Raytheon product lines. Interface with customers to identify user needs and resolve engineering issues. Work with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop new products and hold technical reviews. Conduct hydrocode simulation and lethality analysis. Support warhead design, analysis, test, and evaluation. Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS), and Technical Data Packages (TDP). Support fact‑finding and contract negotiations, ensuring technical rigor and depth of all deliverables. Travel periodically to government and subcontractor facilities. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in STEM (Engineering, Mathematics, or related field) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in warhead development from conceptual design through final test/assembly. Experience in solid propulsion system development from conceptual design through final test/assembly. Project management skills applied to team interaction and deliverables. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required. Preferred: Advanced degree and 8+ years of directly related experience in warhead design, analysis, and development. Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines (structural, thermal, aerodynamics). Technical writing skills for detailed design requirements, test requirements, SOWs, white papers, and presentations. Supplier collaboration experience and oversight in generating specifications and SOWs. Working knowledge or experience with missile design, development, production support, and integration. Experience with DoD customers and/or contractor executives and technical leadership. Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (Department of Defense). EEO Statement RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
