Position Summary

The Houseman plays a vital role in supporting the Housekeeping Department and ensuring that guest rooms and public areas meet the high standards of cleanliness and hospitality for which The Willcox is known. Housemen are an essential part of our team and contribute directly to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Stripping guest rooms of used linens following guest departure
• Transporting linens and towels to the laundry area
• Completing in-room counts of used amenities and supplies
• Removing trash and recycling from guest rooms and common areas
• Breaking down and removing cardboard and other packaging materials
• Assisting with evening turndown service as needed
• Assisting guests with luggage and other reasonable requests
• Cleaning and maintaining public spaces and common areas throughout the property
• Seasonally bringing firewood indoors for guest room and common area fireplaces
• Watering outdoor plants and landscaping as needed
• Assisting housekeeping staff with various operational needs
• Supporting hotel departments as necessary to ensure exceptional guest service

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to frequently bend, kneel, stoop, stand, walk, and move throughout the property
• Ability to regularly navigate stairs and steps
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
• Previous hospitality or housekeeping experience is preferred but not required
