About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director for Principal Gifts and University Initiatives to play a pivotal role in shaping and elevating its philanthropic strategy. This senior leadership position is at the intersection of presidential, academic, and advancement leadership, with a focus on guiding the institution's highest-level philanthropic relationships and driving initiatives that enhance the ability to secure transformative gifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive principal gifts program, managing a select portfolio of top prospects, and ensuring that donor-centric strategies are aligned with the company's most ambitious priorities. Collaboration with the President, Provost, and other senior leaders is essential, as is the management and mentorship of a team of gift officers. Applicants for the Executive Director role should have a minimum of 8 years' experience in major and principal gift fundraising, preferably within a complex higher education environment. The ideal candidate will possess the intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence to work effectively with senior academic leaders and top donors, and have a proven track record of identifying and securing transformational gifts. A master's degree, experience with comprehensive campaigns, and comfort in a metrics-driven environment are preferred. The role requires a strategic and collaborative approach to principal gift activity, ensuring that it is in line with campaign goals and the company's mission of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
