Job Description:

• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Respond immediately to clinical deterioration or emergency calls.
• Provide real-time education on early warning signs, interventions, and documentation.
• Support and coach bedside nurses during and after rapid response events.
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Perform focused and comprehensive assessments of patients experiencing acute changes.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skills required for work in critical care area
• Computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Electronic EMR documentation
• Effective communication
• Critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of EPIC EMR
• EKG application and identification

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a critical care registered nurse [Required]
• Experience in a specialty area(s) [Required]

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]
• Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$31.53 $52.24
