Accounting Specialist : Pearl City , IL

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations and Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Process vendor invoices by matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents while ensuring proper approvals and coding.
• Prepare and process check and ACH payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements, company credit cards, and employee expense reports.
• Set up and maintain vendor records, including W-9s and credit applications.
• Process customer payments and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Establish new customer accounts and maintain customer documentation.
• Resolve payment discrepancies by working with customers, vendors, managers, receiving, and the sales team.
• Process intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts.
• Generate journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Support audit requests, tax reporting, and 1099 preparation.
• Assist with governmental and state reporting, third-party commission processing, and maintaining accounting databases.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.

Skills & Experience :

• Education : Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Experience : 2+ years of Accounts Payable/Receivable experience
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Software: Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel proficiency, and experience with accounting/ERP software, required

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00/hour

Type: Full-time, 1s Shift, On-Site

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
