Who We Are For more than 60 years, Scheerer Bearing Corporation has designed, manufactured, and reconditioned some of the most advanced ball and roller bearings in the industry — the kind trusted by industrial giants and OEMs who can’t afford failure. We’ve built bearings for equipment running in extreme environments, and our engineering team helps develop the next generation of frictionless machinery. Founded in 1963 just outside Philadelphia, Scheerer is still led today by the third generation of the family that built it. We’ve grown a lot since then — new facilities, new capabilities, new markets — but we’ve kept what matters: real people making real decisions, not layers of bureaucracy standing between an idea and getting it done. Government and defense work is one of the markets we’re most focused on growing right now. We’ve already got contracts and relationships in that space — what we haven’t had is someone driving it as a real priority. This newly created role exists to change that and turn it into a true growth engine for the company. Who You Are You know your way around a government solicitation. FAR and DFARS aren’t foreign concepts — you’ve read them, applied them, maybe argued about them. Maybe you’ve worked in a defense contracts office, a government-facing sales role, or contract administration for a manufacturer. However you got there, you’re ready to take a piece of the business that’s never had real focus and turn it into one of our biggest growth stories — owning it from first conversation through negotiation and closeout, and building it into something the company becomes known for. What You’ll Be Doing Identify and pursue government and defense opportunities that fit our manufacturing and engineering capabilities Represent Scheerer at industry events and with government agencies, prime contractors, and defense partners Develop and submit competitive, compliant proposals — pricing and all Negotiate contracts and manage them from award through closeoutRecommend the capability investments that help us win bigger, better business Be the single point of contact, internally and externally, for the government work you run Why You’ll Love It Here We’re already in this industry — it just hasn’t had real focus.
