Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (18:45 - 07:15). Must work every other weekend, with floating required to other MedSurg/Telemetry areas.

Job Description

The MedSurg/Telemetry unit cares primarily for stroke patients and other neuro diagnoses. The unit requires experienced Registered Nurses with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of direct MedSurg experience. The unit will not accept first-time travelers and requires at least 2 successful contracts prior to application.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with stroke and other neurological conditions.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize electronic health records (Epic) for documentation of patient information and care.
• Participate in floating to other units when necessary, including COVID care units.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year of MedSurg experience.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred but not required.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
