New Grad Sonographer - 24/7 On-Call Imaging Pro

Sonographer - New Grad - All Locations Location: Belle Chasse, Louisiana, United States. Job Responsibilities Collaborate with staff radiologists to independently perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures following safety procedures and protocols. Serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy. Use radiology information systems to facilitate care. Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding. Operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including assisting radiologists in guided procedures in various settings. Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards. Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted. Assist in departmental operations (inventory, staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, etc.). Adapt communication style to specific patient populations respecting privacy and explain services or procedures. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Completion of a CAHEA‑approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography. No prior work experience required (though 2 years of sonographer experience preferred). Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification or registry eligibility required within 1 year of hire. Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty as per facility need. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally to various levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Knowledge of the anatomy of the liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidneys, bile ducts, and pancreas and ability to perform abdominal ultrasound and identify pathology to provide preliminary diagnoses.
