Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,153 per week in Evansville, IN

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Evansville, Indiana, 47701!

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Ortho/Neuro/Trauma unit serving trauma, orthopedic (hip/femur fractures), and neurological (spine, neck, back, rib fractures) patient populations
Perform strong neurological assessments, log rolling, and application of assistive devices including back braces and immobilizers
Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; perform peripheral IV insertion
Float within skillset to sister campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats
Adhere to a weekend rotation of three weekends per six-week schedule and an every-other-holiday requirement
May be required to precept students and new hires at this teaching facility
Required Qualifications
Current, active RN Compact License
AHA BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 full year in ortho, neuro, or trauma
Minimum 1 prior travel assignment completed
Trauma Level II experience required
Recent Epic EMR experience required
Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with chest tube and indwelling drain management, drip management (heparin, lasix, protonix), and epidural management
Familiarity with PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care, On-Q management, and wound care including wound vacs and packing
CIWA and behavioral health experience
Step-down experience (required for telemetry test eligibility)
