About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in a hospital setting required License: Valid state or Compact License required at the time of submission Certifications: BLS & ACLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: Cardiac experience with self-rating of 3 or above; basic dysrhythmia training preferred with self-rating of 3 or above Description: Shift is for nights with a schedule of 3 shifts per week. Patient ratios are 1:5, with a chance for 1:6-7 depending on unit needs. Weekend shifts are required, with 3 weekend shifts expected per 6-week assignment. All nurses must complete basic dysrhythmia training and possess the necessary cardiac experience. Care may be provided for a diverse patient population, including those with mental health diagnoses. Top diagnoses/procedures include altered mental status, congestive heart failure, stroke, orthopedic cases, surgical patients, diabetic ketoacidosis, and infections. Daily patient census is approximately 24. The unit may also include interdisciplinary support from various specialized teams. All nurses must be familiar with Epic charting, as it is a hard-stop requirement and must be current within the last 6 months. Attendance will be monitored under a zero-fault policy, where missed shifts are counted as unexcused regardless of the reason. Limited time off is allowed, with a maximum of 5 days in a 13-week assignment and no requests permitted around major holidays. Additional requests for time off beyond the initial submission will not be accepted. Candidates must agree to job responsibilities, attendance policies, and all requirements before starting the assignment.
