Department/Unit: HBD - General Surgery Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $49,763.00 - $69,668.00 Scheduling and Patient Services Lead – Albany General Surgery Office Monday – Friday Welcome to Albany Medical Center, providing excellent care to our community each day. An ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both independently and on a team. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday during normal business hours of 8:00AM-4:30PM. Primary Job Responsibilities: • Work alongside the Practice Coordinator/Manager to facilitate coordination of both front (check in/out) and/or back office • Answer incoming phone calls and direct appropriately to team members • Interact with a diverse patient population • Utilize the electronic medical record to maintain patient records via scanning or registration • Schedule appointments, new or follow up visits (Check-In/Check-Out) • Coordinate patient referrals and prior authorization for additional diagnostic testing or procedures (as needed) • Schedule Surgical Procedures (applicable to Surgery Depts only) Qualifications: • High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required • Associate's Degree - preferred • 3-5 years office experience or three years of related experience in a medical practice - preferred • Experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office a plus. • Excellent customer service skills. • Ability to multi-task in a high patient volume unit. • Ability to learn and utilize resources. • Strong time management skills. • Ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions. • Good judgement and ability to problem solve; escalate issues as needed. • Strong teamwork skills and work ethic.
