Corrections Officer - Part time and Full-time

This part-time position may lead to full-time employment following successful completion of Officer in-house training. Overall Responsibilities To perform care, custody and control of inmates in the County Jail. Conducts booking procedures of newly committed detainees. Maintains and secures inmates' personal property. Maintains and documents accurate headcounts. Directs and monitors movement of inmates. Conducts searches on incoming inmates and prepares them for incarceration. Checks incoming mail, clothing and other items for contraband. Documents and maintains daily log of Jail activities. Observes inmate activities and unusual behaviors or needs. Searches all areas of Jail for contraband. Issues clothing and housecleaning supplies. Supervises work detail. Interfaces with prisoners to determine their needs or problems. Patrols cell block areas and housing units. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, Criminal Background check and pre-employment physical/drug screening required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Some security experience helpful, but not required. All applicants must be 18 years of age prior to application.
