Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting and finance team supporting operations within the oil & gas, energy, construction, or industrial services industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of complex accounting activities, contribute to the month-end close, and serve as a key partner to both accounting and operational teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, preferably within an operational, project-based, or field-services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account adjustmentsPerform and review complex account and bank reconciliationsMaintain and analyze general ledger accounts and supporting schedulesPrepare financial statements, management reports, and other internal reportingAnalyze monthly financial results, identify variances, and investigate unusual activitySupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processesAssist with project, job cost, revenue, or cost accounting activitiesPartner with operations and business leaders to understand financial performanceReview accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash activity as neededEnsure transactions are accurately recorded and properly classifiedSupport internal and external audits and provide requested schedules and documentationAssist with technical accounting research and implementation of accounting policiesIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracyMentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants and other accounting team membersAssist with special projects, system implementations, and other finance initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required4–8+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience in oil & gas, energy, construction, engineering, industrial services, or a related industry strongly preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesDemonstrated experience owning or significantly contributing to month-end closeStrong general ledger, reconciliation, journal entry, and financial reporting experienceExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisStrong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysisExperience with an ERP/accounting system such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, or similarStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionallyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Industry Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following environments are encouraged to apply:Oil & GasEnergy ServicesMidstream / DownstreamOilfield ServicesEngineering & ConstructionCommercial ConstructionIndustrial ServicesManufacturingInfrastructureEPC / EPCMField ServicesWhat We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is more than just a number cruncher —someone who understands the story behind the numbers and can confidently communicate it to others.
