Human Resources Generalist – Long Beach

This role will participate in various HR projects in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.  This role will be located in Long Beach, California .

What the Job Entails: 

• Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
• Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
• Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For: 

• Five years of HR experience with broad based experience administering policies, programs, and projects that span the employee lifecycle (i.e., compliance, talent acquisition, compensation, professional development, and employee relations).
• Workday HCM experience preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate .
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times .
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

This is a full-time permanent position from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday located at 2300 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90809 .
