Speech Savvy Therapy Services is a growing pediatric outpatient clinic dedicated to helping children develop the skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their community. We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing pediatric therapy team. 

 

Position Summary 

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide direct occupational therapy treatment to pediatric patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is creative, energetic, and is passionate about helping children achieve independence through engaging, play-based therapy. 

 

Responsibilities 

• Provide individualized occupational therapy treatment according to the established plan of care. 
• Implement therapeutic activities targeting fine motor skills, visual motor integration, sensory processing, self-care skills, emotional regulation, handwriting, and developmental milestones. 
• Document treatment sessions accurately and promptly. 
• Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding patient progress and treatment recommendations. 
• Educate families and caregivers on home programs and strategies to support continued progress. 
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging treatment environment. 
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations, state practice guidelines, and clinic policies. 

 

Qualifications 

• Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing. 
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. 
• Pediatric experience preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged to apply. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist. 
• Passion for working with children and their families.

Compensation 

Treatment Session: $26 - $33 per hour visit depending on experience

 

Schedule 

• Monday–Friday 
• Part-time / Full-time 
• 1099 Independent Contractor 
• Opportunity for W-2 Employment after 6 months of employment with no disciplinary actions.
