Director of Operations

Operations LeaderWe are searching for a dynamic and experienced operations leader to join our team to play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our assembly processes, supply chain management, and logistics operations to ensure efficient production and delivery. A key function of the role is to identify and execute opportunities for improvement in systems support and process design.In this role, you will support the full suite of Operations globally for Cervelo including supply & demand planning, product ordering, and monitoring of the movement and delivery of finished goods ensuring they remain on schedule, and in excellent condition. You will also maintain key supplier relationships and ensure supplier compliance. This role reports directly to the COO of Cervelo and Santa Cruz Bicycles, and manages the supply chain team of analysts and logistics professionals including third-party suppliers. If you are a strategic thinker, a results-driven leader, and a passionate advocate for operational excellence, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute planning and purchasing strategies to support the strategic objectives of the businessLead and oversee the global supply chain to ensure on-time product delivery and optimization of supplier relationsDirect the distribution, demand planning and purchasing functions to meet global product demand forecastsOversee collaboration with Product, Sales, Marketing and Finance to assess the Demand Plan by Market, SKU, Month, etc.Generate forecasts for suppliers and Global Procurement in order to ensure visibility on future requirementsDirect the analysis on capacity at key suppliers to maximize deliverySupport the management of third-party assemblers to ensure timely delivery and quality of serviceOversee and manage all operational and demand planning (eg. S&OP)Lead and motivate a matrixed team of Global Operations professionals, including analysts, planners, and logistics coordinators, to achieve operational excellence and drive continuous improvement initiativesParticipate on the Management Team and support the long-range strategic planning for the future success of the brandInventory & LogisticsManage third-party and vendor relationships, ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliveriesLead the tracking, analyzing and reporting on inventory, shipping, freight and duty costs and benchmarks to support company initiativesEvaluate opportunities to reduce cost and streamline processes regarding global inventory and logisticsManage the logistics teamDevelop inventory policies and process improvementsEnsure effective cost recovery on our standard & express shipping chargesInformation SystemsDirect and support the execution of key IT and reporting initiatives across the businessEnsure all systems are adequately protected and working effectively to support usersOversee the procurement and implementation of key software and hardware to support business initiativesSupport IT projects for the Pon.Bike Group, ensure monitoring and budget managementSkills and Requirements10+ years of experience working in a supply chain environment and managing a global team5-7+ years of experience in Demand Planning and S&OP management5+ years of experience managing teamsBachelor's degree in business, operations or related fieldExperience with an ERP software system; system implementations & improvementsExperience providing IT oversight and executing IT projectsExceptional communication skills, facilitation skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage various projects, superior organizational skills and time management abilitiesExperience in the consumer goods industry is preferredKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirableAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlinesPassion for cycling and a genuine interest in the outdoor sports industry is a plusCPIM/CSCP certification preferredExperience working with a supply chain base in AsiaAbility to travel 10-20% of the time, valid passport requiredLanguage Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English.
