Senior Accountant

Location: Springfield, VA (onsite). This is not a remote or hybrid position.

PD Power Systems is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team of qualified, diverse professionals. The successful applicant will become part of PD Power Systems staff based in Springfield, VA.

The Senior Accountant will have substantial previous experience with Government Accounting, a strong technical accounting background, and the ability to collaborate both within their team as well as to external vendors and customers on accounting functions. Experience with JAMIS and Wide Area Workflow is a plus. This position reports to the Vice President, Finance and Accounting.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with staff and vendors on various accounting functions
• Review A/P bills and credit card transactions
• Process A/R bills
• Filing of Sales and Use Tax
• Process 1099s
• Monitor and reconcile G/L accounts, bank accounts, credit card statements and line of credit account
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
• Analyze Project Status Reports and other month-end reports
• Assist with audit and tax requirements
• Other tasks as required

Experience & Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Substantial Government Accounting experience.
• At least 5 years' experience working with general ledgers.

Technical Skills:

• Strong technical accounting background.
• Proficiency with JAMIS job costing accounting software.
• Excel and database skills.

Personal Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work proficiently both independently and on a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experience in meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
