Maintenance Team Lead

Summary Maintenance Team Leader is an “Aircraft Technician” who leads other Technicians in their day‑to‑day maintenance duties. This position performs the duties of a Maintenance Technician and assumes duties of the Maintenance Supervisor when absent. Must pass a criminal background check. High School Diploma/GED required. Certifications: A & P license, Engine Run & Taxi (ERT), Airworthiness Release (AWR), SOJT – Train the trainer (SOJT‑TtT). Minimum 2 years aircraft heavy line maintenance experience. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Must hold ERT, AWR and SOJT‑TtT qualifications. Preferred Requirements Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook email. Job Duties Laying out and assuming control of quality and quantity of work assignments. Review the log book for each RON or idle (3 hours or more) aircraft at the base for open write‑ups and currency of the Service Check. Ensure work performed safely, in accordance with company policy, manufacturer’s manuals and FAA requirements. Coordinate work and jobs in progress with oncoming mechanics during shift change. Ensure paperwork, tags, etc. are properly filled out and signed, including tags for parts removed. Maintain work areas clean and orderly. Provide on‑the‑job training instructions and information on procedures, safety and good work practices. Keep ERT, AWR and SOJT‑TtT certifications current. Advise Maintenance Supervisor of problems causing potential work delays. Ensure maintenance personnel in group qualify to accomplish duties assigned. Efficiently utilize manpower, making adjustments to methods and procedures to provide continuous improvement in efficiency and production increase. Increase own knowledge by studying technical material and study guides. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements The role requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, using hands and fingers to operate various tools (drills, ladders, welding, chemicals, etc.). May require lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying up to 50 lbs. May require working various shifts/days in a 24‑hour situation. Regular attendance required. Exposure to extreme noise, temperature, wind, light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. Ability to wear personal protective gear.
