Adult Outpatient Programs provide the least restrictive level of care where adults may receive clinical interventions aimed at decreasing existing signs and symptoms. Outpatient treatment focuses on recovery problem resolution symptom reduction stabilization and/or prevention of movement to a higher level of care. Treatment varies widely and depends upon the consumers presenting symptoms.

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

1. Provides effective clinical assessment of the consumer
2. Utilizes assessment data to support a DSM 5 diagnosis
3. Formulates appropriate treatment plan along with consumer
4. Provides individual group and family therapy utilizing basic therapeutic models and theories according to consumer needs as stated in the treatment plan
5. Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situation
6. Effectively collaborates with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services
7. Evaluates the consumer for discharge planning
8. Effectively demonstrates the application of adult specific competencies
9. Adheres to professional code of ethics

Supervision and Consultation:

1. Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed
2. Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement
3. Actively works to enhance clinical skills

Clinical Record Keeping:

1. Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy
2. Documents appropriate complete and clinically comprehensive mental health assessments
3. Documents measurable and specific goals in the treatment plan
4. Documents in a clear and concise manner types of consumer problems treatment goals addressed services and techniques used
5. Documents case disposition case closings follow-up and referrals
6. Documents legibly

Case Load Management:

1. Effectively manages caseload based on consumer needs
2. Meets AltaPointe productivity standards

Courteous and respectful attitudes towards consumers visitors and co-workers

1. Treats consumers with care dignity and compassion
2. Respects consumers privacy and confidentiality
3. Is pleasant and cooperative with others
4. Assists visitors and consumers as needed
5. Personal values dont inhibit ability to relate and care for others
6. Is sensitive to the consumers needs expectations and individual differences
7. Is gentle and calm with consumers and families

Administrative and Other Related Duties as Assigned:

1. Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities
2. Actively participates in AltaPointe committees as required
3. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner
4. Accesses appropriate community resources according to consumer needs
5. Follows AltaPointe policies and procedures
6. Maintains current license and requirements for renewals (i.e. CEUs) if applicable and attends to required in-services and workshops

Qualifications

Masters degree in a mental health discipline required.

Licensed Clinical Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor preferred. Knowledge in adult specialty outlined below to be attained within (6) six months of employment.

• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the adult population
• Basic knowledge of the nature of addiction for referral purposes
• Basic knowledge of Senior Adult issues for referral purposes
• Knowledge of cultural diversity
• Knowledge of behavior management crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic consumers as well as to non-violent crisis intervention practice
• Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults and senior adults with psychiatric disorders

Required Experience:

IC
