Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and testing products by accurately interpreting basic drawings, diagrams, bills of materials, and written instructions. You use hand and power tools to perform mechanical and electrical assembly, prepare products for shipment, and support inventory and packaging activities while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow basic drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, and written instructions to assemble and test products accurately.

• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including panel wiring and electrical wiring, using appropriate hand and power tools.

• Use hand-held tools such as screwdrivers and drill guns to complete assembly work safely and efficiently.

• Carry out product preparation activities, including labeling and basic job-related data entry in production systems.

• Identify non-conforming products, perform rework and repairs, and ensure finished products meet established quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area in accordance with company safety procedures and guidelines.

• Assist with incoming inspection of inventory, including verifying materials and components as they arrive.

• Support inventory storage and cycle counting to help maintain accurate stock levels and organization.

• Assist in shipment preparation, including packaging, palletization, and ensuring products are ready for transport.

• Perform all work in compliance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

• Handle heavy lifting as required to move materials, components, and finished products within the shop.

• Support general labor tasks related to production, assembly, and panel build as needed.

• Participate in basic testing activities, including UI testing or actuator-related checks when required by the product.

Essential Skills

• Ability to interpret and follow basic production drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, and written instructions.

• Experience with mechanical and electrical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency using hand tools such as screwdrivers and other assembly tools.

• Proficiency using power tools such as hand-held drill guns for assembly work.

• Ability to perform panel wiring, electrical wiring, and electrical assembly tasks.

• Capability to identify, rework, and repair non-conforming products to meet quality standards.

• Comfort with general labor tasks in a production setting, including product preparation and handling.

• Ability to perform basic data entry related to jobs and production activities.

• Capability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily responsibilities.

• Understanding of and adherence to established quality standards and safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly, including working with actuators and related components.

• Soldering, soldering assembly, and use of soldering tools.

• Experience with panel build activities in an electrical or mechanical production environment.

• Familiarity with UI testing or basic functional testing of assembled products.

• Ability to assist with incoming inventory inspection, storage, and cycle counting.

• Experience with shipment packaging and palletization in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a small shop setting with approximately twenty people, offering a hands-on production environment. The facility is currently non-climate-controlled but is in the process of moving to a climate-controlled workspace, improving comfort and working conditions. Work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, soldering tools, and equipment for electrical and mechanical assembly, as well as handling materials and products that may require heavy lifting. You work in an area where maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
