Nurse Educator Albany County School District 1 – Laramie, Wyoming Job Details Job ID: 5612363 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Mar 27, 2026 6:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Aug 17, 2026 Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $63,500 to $95,296 per year Job Category: Classroom Teacher > Health Position Summary The Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for providing instruction to students in healthcare related courses including Emergency Medical Responder, Health Occupations, and Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). The Nurse Educator develops lesson plans for courses and evaluates students both in the classroom and clinical setting. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Plans and prepares for classroom instruction, reviews course content, and ensures instruction is up to date. Maintains knowledge of healthcare education subject area and teaches to district objectives and student IEPs. Personalizes instruction as necessary to account for individual student differences. Provides instruction using various techniques and instructional strategies. Utilizes assessment strategies to measure learning and performance and ensures students are prepared to pass certification examinations with current state standards, assisting students in applying for state exams. Supervises students in classroom, clinical setting, and teaches hands‑on healthcare techniques. Provides equity in the classroom by ensuring equal opportunity for all students regardless of race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, background, and abilities. Communicates with and maintains a positive relationship with students and parents. Manages student behavior in the classroom. Organizes the classroom to promote learning, student safety, and ensures equipment functions safely. Responds appropriately to student behavior in the total school environment by enforcing school rules across all areas. Participates in professional growth activities such as professional organizations, coursework, workshops, conferences, school and district committees, task forces, in‑depth studies, or councils. Follow the policies and procedures of the school and district. Demonstrates professional responsibility, ethical behavior, accurate reporting, meeting deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, caring for equipment, dressing appropriately, and presenting a role model. In Wyoming, CNA instructors must be licensed RNs with at least two years of nursing experience, including one year of long‑term care experience. Entry Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree; current license to practice as a registered nurse in Wyoming; certification from the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) with endorsement in Health 6‑12 or ability to obtain PTSB Professional Industry Permit (PIC) with endorsement in Health 6‑12. Experience: Two years of nursing experience including one year of long‑term care experience; registered or willing to register as EMR instructor through NAEMT; CRP instructor certification through AHA.
