As a Registered Nurse for Oncology Telehealth, you will work alongside physicians and healthcare staff dedicated to providing a positive patient experience. You will evaluate a patient's physical and emotional health, as well as their medical history, and collaborate with physicians and specialists to create a treatment plan for each patient. Schedule: 2‑3 shifts – 20 hours a week – Saturday rotation required. Position Summary This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of professional nursing practice. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or others under their direction, using specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the patient’s physical and developmental age. Core Functions Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; reviews patient history and physical with patient/family; approves timely completion of assessments; reviews diagnostics and laboratory data; reports abnormal results to physicians and other caregivers; completes assessment and reassessments as needed. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, using assessment data and input from patient, family and health team; initiates a patient‑specific care plan; ensures goals are realistic, measurable and developed with patient/family; considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual and age‑specific needs; plans care collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team; revises the plan of care based on patient status changes. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team; provides care based on physician orders and nursing plan of care; delegates appropriately; supervises care by licensed nurses and other personnel; promotes continuity of care with accurate communication to other caregivers. Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care as needed; evaluates patient progress toward goals and expected outcomes; assesses effectiveness of patient teaching. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensures documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy; reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient response to treatment; notes physician orders accurately and timely. Provides care based on the best available evidence; participates in research activities within clinical practice; participates in unit or facility shared leadership; interacts and participates in the education, role development and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors; promotes and supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable and safe care; actively participates in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes; may participate in professional organizations. May supervise staff and workflow of the department in some roles. Interacts with all levels of staff across departments and external contacts—including clergy—to provide spiritual support; synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to address patient and family responses to changes in health status. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure). BLS certification required. Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired. Maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area, demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require at least one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, with work in an acute care setting within the past 12 months. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require at least one year of experience as an RN in a physician practice or acute care setting. Home Health team members must operate a personal vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain active auto insurance coverage. Behavioral Health positions in Arizona require an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and during employment; an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Professional certification. Additional related education and/or experience.
