Location 727 W Main Street,Louisville, KY, 40202,United States Base Pay $16.00 / Hour Employee Type Part Time Description As a Visitor Services Representative team member, you will work with a highly motivated group of peers and be the first line of contact with our visitors. With the training and support of management staff and coworkers you will serve as one of the science ambassadors for Kentucky Science Center. The Visitor Services Department is responsible for meeting our visitor’s needs in the following areas of service: admissions sales, gift shop, theater, concessions, information-sharing, and phone reservations. Reports to: Visitor Services Leadership Team Areas of Concentration: Front Line – Phone sales and inquiries (20%) Responsibilities: Give accurate information to visitors 100% of the time. Serve a diversified public (children, parents, adults and teachers) with a positive professional, energetic GLOWING attitude. Effectively market Science Center products and programs to customers. Complete transactions accurately and efficiently. Prepare accurate daily balance reports. Maintain a clean, neat, and well-stocked work area. Assist in inventory activities. Welcome guests to the theater in a pleasant manner while taking tickets. Greet visitors, schools, and groups at theater entrance to provide instructions and to assist in seating. Make clear, professional public address announcements. Monitor theater during shows when needed to assist guests with their needs and minimize disturbances. Also report any technical problems to projection booth. Maintain high level of theater cleanliness. Answer and return phone calls in a timely manner. Communicate and work in a team manner with co-workers and volunteers to ensure a smooth operation. Perform other tasks, as assigned. Report to work in a timely manner and maintain a strict time schedule. Maintain flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends, as well as holidays. Requirements Must be at least 18 years or older. A working knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to a positive visitor experience. Able to work efficiently without direct supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule: we are a seven day a week operation. A team player with high emotional intelligence. A love for continuous learning and growth. A commitment to our mission, vision, values and service philosophy. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be able to push or pull with 75 lbs. of force. Must be able to stand, walk and climb steps and sit for long periods of time. Its flagship location on Louisville, KY's historic Museum Row, welcomes visitors from across the globe with 3-floors of interactive exhibits and films on a 4-story screen. Compensation and Benefits: Starting pay of $16 per hour. Part-time, non-exempt position, working 16-29 hours per week.
