Junior Specialist - Calderon Lab The Department of Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences is now recruiting a Junior Specialist. Responsibilities include performing molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, plasmid preparation, basic cloning, NGS library preparation, gel electrophoresis, tissue culture, basic sequence data analysis, scientific writing, data organization, record‑keeping, data entry, and shared lab manager/organizational duties. Exceptional candidates will lead independent projects, develop new ideas, be familiar with the literature, and participate in fund procurement where appropriate. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or at least four years of research experience. A bachelor's degree may be in progress if the expected completion date is before the start date. Background in molecular biology. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to learn new methods and skills for changing research priorities. Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate work with others, and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to work independently and as a member of a research team. Must meet the required qualifications at the time of appointment. Benefits and Compensation This position has an estimated salary range of $55,000–$58,600.
