This is a full-time, in the office, position focused on estimating for commercial construction projects in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC areas. Qualifications Capable of reviewing specifications, plans, and creating material take-offs from drawings, while considering project site requirements. Experience using QuoteSoft estimating software utilizing on-screen takeoff (OST) software effectively. Understanding of various HVAC systems and their function and required components. Experience with MS Office, especially Excel. Capable of following company processes and procedures with keen attention to detail. Proven ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently. Proven ability to fill-in missing information for a complete HVAC piping and equipment take-off. Time management skills required to meet bid due dates. Strong communication skills. Equivalent technical HVAC knowledge. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of estimating commercial Mechanical/HVAC systems. Key Responsibilities Quantitative and detailed material take-offs of P-V-F and equipment in the preparation of comprehensive budgets, pre-construction proposals, hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build proposals. Review specifications and drawings and attend internal pre-bid meetings. Collaborate with the Estimating team members in the preparation of project bids. Coordinate the estimating effort for assigned bids/projects, working closely with the Bid Team. Maintain accurate documentation and backup files for estimates per company standards.
