Job Title: Member Advisor
Location: San Jose Location- (Tully Road-Onsite)
Compensation: $33.75 - $36.25 + up to 10% performance bonus -Benefits day 1

By combining operational expertise with technology and data, we deliver a convenient and affordable alternative to traditional vehicle ownership.  About the role Most people have only ever bought or leased a car, so Flexcar takes some explanation. As a Member Advisor, you'll work with prospective members — mostly by phone, and in person, over chat, and by email — to understand their situation and help them see how Flexcar can be the right fit for them. Most of the people you talk to have options. Your job is to replace skepticism with confidence — not to push. Your success is measured in two things: new members on the road, and relationships that keep them with us.
You'll be based at our San Jose hub, close to the cars and the team that supports our members, so your guidance is grounded in the real experience. What you'll do

• Guide prospective members from first questions to their first Flexcar.
• Explain how Flexcar works in plain language: what's included, what it costs, and how it compares to buying, leasing, or financing.
• Understand each person's needs — budget, timeline, how they'll use the car — and match them with the right car and plan.
• Turn hesitation into confidence: answer the hard questions honestly and give people a clear reason to move forward.
• Respond fast to new inquiries, and pick up handoffs from chat and our inbound line.
• Build relationships that outlast the signup — stay connected with your members so they feel known, supported, and glad they joined.

What we're looking for

• 3–4 years of consultative, high-touch sales experience — phone-first, and measured on outcomes.
• Automotive retail experience strongly preferred — you already know the objections, and the dealership frustrations we exist to solve.
• Motivated by results — you take pride in growing membership, and in doing it the right way.
• A natural teacher: you can make pricing, insurance, and product details simple and clear.
• A great listener who asks good questions before offering answers.
• Warm, patient, and trustworthy — people feel comfortable with you quickly.
• Comfortable talking cars — trims, features, what actually fits a family — without needing to be a technician.

Compensation Transparency (California – SB 1162)  The hourly pay range for this position is $33.75 - $36.25 per hour, plus a performance bonus of up to 10% of base pay tied to both new members and the members who stay. This is not a commission role — you will never negotiate a price or work a commission sheet. We would rather reward the advisor whose members are still with us a year from now. This range represents the reasonably expected pay range for this role within California. Actual compensation will be determined based on: 

• Experience 

• Skills and competencies 

• Geographic location 

• Internal equity considerations 

This position is paid on an hourly basis and is eligible for overtime in accordance with California wage and hour laws. Local Ordinance Compliance  Flexcar complies with all applicable state, federal and local employment laws, including: 

• California minimum wage and overtime laws 

• San Jose Minimum Wage Ordinance 

• Richmond Minimum Wage Ordinance 

• California Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act 

• Applicable local paid sick leave ordinances  

Where local laws provide greater employee protections or benefits than state or federal law, Flexcar will comply with the more protective standard.  What tops the tank;
