Program Specialist

Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, with flexibility to vary. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-Hour Day Shift; will include some weekends. Purpose Statement/Position Summary The Program Specialist is responsible for day-to-day oversight for department-specific programs. The Specialist will direct and coordinate program activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the estimated time period and in compliance with CHLA or other relevant agencies’ policies. Under supervision of the Program Manager or Program Administrator, will monitor program workflows, engage community partners, and ensure desired program outcomes are achieved. The Program Specialist will be responsible for advancing existing Food Access Hub initiatives while identifying opportunities to expand impact, strengthen partnerships, and develop innovative approaches to address food insecurity. Will require balancing day-to-day program implementation with long-term strategic growth, including evaluating and pursuing new funding and program opportunities. Will be responsible for overseeing the fiscal stewardship, prioritization of activities, and the ability to maximize community impact within budget. Required Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience 2+ years of experience managing small to medium-sized programs and teams in non-profit, healthcare, or academic settings, with a focus on fostering collaboration. The ability to engage and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, providers, patients and families, community partners, and leaders in the field. Preferred Experience in program operations, project management, and process improvement within healthcare, nonprofit, academic, or community-based settings. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track performance metrics, identify opportunities for growth, and support informed decision-making. Demonstrated experience managing multiple initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, and driving projects from planning through implementation.
