That means we look out for one another, take pride in what we build, and take responsibility for our actions, our results, and the long-term health of the company.Guided by our core values of People, Team, Our Bond, Persistence, and Vision, we do what we say we will do, push through challenges and deliver work we're proud of.When you join Ames, you're joining a company built for long-term success — where skilled people, strong teams, and disciplined execution come together to build careers and a better future.Essential FunctionsProposal Development Schedule and lead proposal kickoff meetings and win strategy sessions to define roles, responsibilities, timelines, and win themes.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and other team members to gather project-specific information.Collaborate with office leadership to identify key personnel to be named in the proposal and develop resumes.Organize and format proposal content, ensuring compliance with client requirements.Write, edit, and proofread proposal sections to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.Coordinate proposal review meetings and track action items to ensure deadlines are met.Create and maintain a proposal library of templates, boilerplate content, and graphics.Support pursuit group through the post-bid proposal clarification, BAFO, and negotiation process including attending proposal review meetings, updating proposal contents, narratives, etc.Research and Analysis Analyze RFP/RFQ documents, identifying key requirements, deadlines, and evaluation criteria.Gather and incorporate relevant industry data, statistics, and case studies into proposals.Graphics and Visuals Collaborate with graphic designers to create visually appealing proposal elements, including charts, diagrams, and images.Ensure that proposal visuals align with the overall design and messaging.Quality Assurance Conduct thorough quality checks on final proposal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with all RFP requirements.Address any issues or discrepancies before submission.Market Strategy Create market pieces including brochures, presentations, and case studies highlighting the company's strengths and achievements.Organize and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Communications, or a related field.Seven or more years of proposal management experience, preferably in heavy civil or constructionDemonstrated experience in persuasive writing and basic graphic designStrategic and creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling content and messagingSkilled in conducting interviews with technical professionalsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and shifting prioritiesExceptional organization, time management, and attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesignWorking ConditionsLocation – This position will work out of our Denver, CO office.Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.Total RewardsPeople are the most important asset at Ames Construction.Base salary range is $90,000 - $135,000 per year, which varies depending on many factors, including experience, skills, and knowledge.This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.Ames' offers generous retirement benefits, including Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) participation and a 401k match.Ames' non-craft health benefits package is designed so that our team members flourish, with medical, dental, and vision (all at one low premium), voluntary benefits, and company holidays and paid time off.
