About the role

Crowe is seeking a Technical Architect specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Applications. This is a client-facing, individual-contributor role for an architect who enjoys designing enterprise solutions while remaining actively involved in technical delivery.

You’ll work across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure, and DevOps , partnering with clients, functional consultants, developers, and delivery teams to architect, build, integrate, troubleshoot, and deploy scalable enterprise solutions.

What Success Looks Like

This is not a purely strategic, governance, or people-management role . We’re looking for a Technical Architect who stays close to the technology and actively contributes throughout the delivery lifecycle; from architecture and prototyping to code reviews, integrations, deployment pipelines, troubleshooting, and go-live support.

Success in this role requires a builder mindset, strong technical judgment, delivery ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning as the Microsoft Business Applications platform evolves.

What You’ll Do

• Design application, integration, data, security, and environment architecture across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through implementation, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
• Design and implement enterprise integrations using Dataverse, REST/OData APIs, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management , and related integration technologies.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts, review code and configurations, and contribute directly to solving complex technical problems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving application behavior, integrations, deployments, security, data, environments, and performance .
• Establish and promote engineering and application lifecycle management (ALM) practices, including source control, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment automation.
• Translate solution architecture into actionable technical designs and requirements for developers and consultants while identifying risks, dependencies, constraints, and technical tradeoffs.
• Architect and support Copilot, Power Platform automation, and AI-enabled solutions , with appropriate attention to enterprise security, governance, and responsible adoption.
• Lead client technical discussions, architecture workshops, design reviews, demonstrations, and technical deep dives.
• Support solution estimates, proposals, technical planning, and delivery decisions while providing technical guidance and mentorship to developers and consultants.

What You’ll Need

• 7–10 years of experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.
• 4+ years of recent, hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations/AX, Customer Engagement, Dataverse, or related Dynamics 365 applications.
• Technical leadership experience on at least two full-cycle Dynamics 365 implementations , from solution design through production deployment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations extensibility , including X++, extensions, data entities, Data Management Framework (DMF), batch processing, security, and environment management.
• Experience with Power Platform, Dataverse, REST/OData APIs, Azure integration services, and ALM .
• Experience designing and troubleshooting enterprise integrations across Dynamics 365 and external systems.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, code reviews, testing practices, and release management .
• Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and make pragmatic architecture decisions based on scalability, maintainability, security, performance, and delivery constraints.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex issues across application, integration, data, and infrastructure boundaries.
• Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience across additional Dynamics 365 applications, including Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Project Operations, Sales, Customer Service, or Field Service .
• Experience with dual-write, business events, virtual entities/tables, and cross-application integration patterns .
• Experience with Copilot Studio, AI Builder, generative AI, agents, or related Microsoft AI capabilities .
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, or enterprise data and analytics architectures .
• Experience with enterprise security, identity, monitoring, observability, and governance across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure.
• Relevant Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or Azure certifications .

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $142,900.00 - $301,300.00 per year.
