Director, Streetwear Apparel Color Design, Global Jordan

About the Role The Apparel Colour Design Director, Jordan Streetwear, leads colour direction for Jordan apparel and provides colour solutions that support product and marketing success. The role involves trend research, selection of the seasonal colour palette, and application of that palette to product. The position works with key design partners including the Apparel Design Director, Senior Director, Streetwear Apparel Design, and Colour & Material Footwear Director. Key cross-functional partners include Business Product Directors and Business VP Leaders, Dimensional Merchandising leaders, Development Directors, and Design and Product Operation Directors and Managers. Key Responsibilities Provide colour solutions that lead to product and marketing success. Conduct trend research to inform colour direction. Select the seasonal colour palette. Apply the seasonal colour palette to product. Manage and provide input into succession planning and segmentation activities. Manage performance, pay, and resourcing decisions for direct and indirect reports. Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher in Design or a related field; any suitable combination of education, experience, and training will be accepted. 10 years' prior design work experience. 2+ years' managing experience. Extensive experience creating colour palettes and concepts and exploring new colour blocking and application strategies. Product Colour experience is mandatory. Strong understanding of the Apparel Product Creation process. Experience working and communicating directly with manufacturing partners to ensure the accuracy of Colour application and execution. Understanding of how the partnership with Brand on Colour narratives operates. Experience managing other designers and leading strategic design direction. Demonstrated leadership that influences process change. Experience leading in-depth research on consumer trends, insights, and competitors for a focused market segment or category. Experience building inspiration/concept presentations and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction. Cultural expertise and a deep understanding of what drives the Jordan consumer, with knowledge of cultural trends and behaviours. Creative ability with an excellent taste level to drive the future look of Jordan Apparel. Seasoned team leadership and a belief in the power of diversity to foster strong and dynamic teams.
