Assistant to Director of Credit

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant to Director of Credit to join our credit and finance team. In this role, you will support departmental operations by managing the intake and processing of commercial credit applications and maintaining accurate customer master data. The ideal candidate will be familiar with high-volume business-to-business (B2B) credit environments, possess strong analytical skills, and communicate effectively with both internal sales teams and external contractors. Key Responsibilities Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant to Director of Credit to join our credit and finance team. In this role, you will support departmental operations by managing the intake and processing of commercial credit applications and maintaining accurate customer master data. The ideal candidate will be familiar with high-volume business-to-business (B2B) credit environments, possess strong analytical skills, and communicate effectively with both internal sales teams and external contractors. Commercial Credit Processing: Review and process new commercial credit applications from contractors and distributors; verify trade and bank references and prepare complete credit packages for management review. Account Maintenance: Maintain and update accurate customer profiles, credit limits, and terms within our ERP and CRM systems (Epicor Kinetics / Microsoft Dynamics). Project Preliminary Notices & Lien Support: Assist with the verification of project information, job locations, and legal property ownership to support the internal preliminary notice and lien process. Account Monitoring: Review accounts receivable aging reports to identify past-due accounts and coordinate closely with the Collection Manager on necessary follow-ups. Dispute & Inquiry Resolution: Act as a primary point of contact for contractor billing inquiries; research and resolve minor payment discrepancies, short payments, or missing invoice documentation. Reporting: Assist in gathering data and preparing monthly credit summaries and portfolio health briefs for senior management. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: 1–3 years of experience in commercial (B2B) credit, accounts receivable, or billing—ideally within manufacturing, construction, or building material supply. Industry Knowledge : Basic familiarity with construction billing, progress payments, or the preliminary notice process is highly advantageous, but we are willing to train the right individual. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Excel). Experience with modern ERP software (such as Epicor Kinetics) and CRM platforms (such as Microsoft Dynamics) is highly preferred. Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional, diplomatic approach to handling sensitive financial conversations with contractors. Education : High school diploma required; college-level coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration is a plus. Compensation & Position Details Position Type : Full-Time. Location: Stanton, CA. Hourly Rate : $24.00 – $26.00 / hour (Depending on qualifications).
