Packaging Development Engineer

A global flexible packaging manufacturer is hiring an R&D Engineer for its development team in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands on role creating new flexible and thermoformed packaging for the food, beverage, medical and consumer goods markets, working with some of the world's most recognized brands. What you’ll be doing: Leading the development of new flexible packaging structures and capabilities Translating customer and market requirements into specifications and product designs Planning and running pilot, production and filling/packaging trials Working directly with customers, internal teams and external partners on development needs Staying ahead of materials, process and industry developments as the internal technical expert What we’re looking for: A BS in Engineering, Science, Packaging or Plastics 5 to 10 years in flexible packaging product or package development Breadth across converting processes: blown film, extrusion coating and lamination, rotogravure or flexographic printing, pouching, and form/fill/seal Development experience across more than one end market (food, healthcare, personal care, pet and similar), not a single niche Strong materials knowledge across OPP, PET, PE, Nylon, paper and foil What’s on offer: $90,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, plus a negotiable signing bonus Onsite in Charlotte, NC, with up to 20% travel A progression role with the level set to your experience, plus strong benefits including a 401(k) match, full medical, dental and vision, and tuition reimbursement #J-18808-Ljbffr
