Network Technician II Join our team at the Detention Center as a Network Technician II! We're seeking a skilled and experienced professional to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot our critical network infrastructure. Examples of duties include: Monitoring the performance of file and print servers, routers, switches, wide area network links, and fiber connections daily. Responding to calls from users and daily work orders to resolve computer network problems on a timely basis. Repairing and upgrading network equipment, including servers, PCs, hubs, routers, switches, and network cabling. Implementing the design of the network infrastructure, obtaining equipment bids from vendors, and installing equipment. Monitoring, approving, and signing off on outside vendors' work. Performing a variety of network administration duties. Interacting with users to ensure timely response and resolution of reported network problems. Teaching library users how to use computers, including hardware, software, and on-line resources. Performing other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications include: An associate degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, and at least three (3) years of experience in computer network design and troubleshooting, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience supporting applications and hardware within a Microsoft Windows and networked environment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, commercial driver's license (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications. Full-time employees working a regular schedule of 30 or more hours per week are eligible for County benefits.
