Drools Java Microservices Developer

CTG is seeking to fill a Drools Java Microservices Developer position for our client. This is an opportunity for an experienced developer with strong expertise in Drools, Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Azure cloud technologies.

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot

• Design and implement business rules and decision engines using Drools

• Build scalable, cloud-native applications within Azure environments

• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations

• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and cloud deployments

• Integrate enterprise applications and APIs with Drools rule engines

• Participate in Agile development, testing, troubleshooting, and production support

• Contribute to containerized and event-driven architectures using Azure and Kafka technologies

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Drools and business rule engine development

• Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles

• Experience with Spring Boot microservices architecture

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and distributed systems

• Azure cloud services experience including AKS, Azure Functions, App Services, and APIM

• Experience with Kafka, Zookeeper, and event-driven architectures

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, YAML pipelines, and CI/CD practices

• Knowledge of Terraform, ARM Templates, and Infrastructure as Code

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including Azure SQL and Cosmos DB

• Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor and App Insights

• Front-end exposure to ReactJS or Angular is a plus

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Experience

• 7+ years of enterprise software development experience

• Experience building scalable cloud-native applications

• Background working in Agile and DevOps environments

• Experience supporting highly available distributed systems

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 to $95.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
