Job Overview A law firm seeks a mechanical engineering patent agent or technical advisor to join its patents team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of patent prosecution experience and a robust background in mechanical engineering. Duties Assist in patent prosecution and related tasks. Collaborate with attorneys and clients on patent matters. Conduct technical research and analysis. Draft and review patent applications. Requirements Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent. 2-5 years of patent prosecution experience. Registered with the USPTO or eligible to register. Experience with automotive control systems, oil & gas tools, or medical devices. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Certifications USPTO registration or eligibility. Skills Technical research and analysis. Patent application drafting and review.
