Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing accurately and efficiently
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of collections and processing activities
• Communicate procedures clearly to patients to foster trust and confidence
• Ensure a safe and professional environment consistent with organizational standards
• Perform high-volume specimen collections and handle challenging draws when necessary
• Support laboratory operations by handling specimen processing tasks and data entry

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and difficult draws
• Experience with high-volume specimen collection
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail to ensure error-free work
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks
• Customer service skills to create a positive patient experience

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience; 1+ years in a reference lab setting preferred
• Experience with reference labs such as Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, CPL, or PathGroup highly desirable
• Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
• Experience with pediatric specimen collection and processing skills
