Details Work in the Cardiac Stepdown unit of a hospital setting Unit historically maintains a 1:7 patient ratio Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM-7:00 AM 1845 start time required to float Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active IL RN license in hand, with IA license application required at time of offer (compact license accepted) BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) Minimum 1 year of previous stepdown experience required Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required Experience with titration of cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban required Driver's license or proof of permanent residency required for consideration One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years of employment required for consideration Not eligible if employed by the facility within the last 12 months Additional Information Function as part of an interdisciplinary team providing professional nursing care and clinical management to patients May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses Facility is a Level 1 trauma center Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) Local candidates are welcome to apply First-time travelers may be considered with at least 1 year of stepdown experience American Traveler Job ID P-757012.
