About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Workday Developer / Lead Software Engineer to join our Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) team. This position will support the Workday Engineering and Compensation product team , with a primary focus on developing, configuring, integrating, testing, and supporting compliant Workday Extend solutions.

The successful candidate will work on critical US and global Compensation projects , Workday integrations, reporting solutions, and incremental enhancements within an Agile development environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong experience with Workday HCM, Compensation, Workday integrations, EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, reporting, and Workday Extend .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead moderately complex Workday engineering initiatives and technical deliverables.
• Work closely with HR, Compensation, HRIT, business analysts, product owners, and technology teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical planning, and backlog refinement.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday technical solutions.
• Design, develop, configure, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain Workday solutions.
• Develop and maintain Workday integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and related integration technologies.
• Develop and maintain Workday reports, including Report Writer and Advanced Reporting .
• Support Workday Extend development and compliant solutions for Compensation-related business processes.
• Participate in Workday releases, upgrades, enhancements, testing, and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex Workday technical and integration issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
• Review technical challenges and evaluate appropriate technologies, procedures, and implementation approaches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and meet business requirements.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Workday-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and less experienced team members.
• Contribute to technical documentation, solution design documents, test plans, and deployment documentation.
• Ensure solutions comply with organizational security, governance, privacy, and HR technology requirements.
• Support both US and global Compensation initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field , or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of software engineering/development experience or equivalent experience through work, training, military experience, or education.
• 2+ years of experience working with HR systems , such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar platforms.
• 2+ years of business systems analysis, technical analysis, or systems design experience.
• 2+ years of technology implementation, release management, upgrade, or deployment experience.
• At least 1+ year of hands-on Workday development experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting Workday integrations .

• Supporting estimation and sprint planning.
