Assistive Technologist

Job Overview Agency: Department of Health and Human Services, Division Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD). Position: Assistive Technologist (S), Position Number 60055231, Grade NC09. Located in Greenville, NC and serves surrounding counties. Responsibilities Provide technical support and consultation related to assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, professionals, and community partners. Identify and access technology solutions that promote independence, accessibility, and inclusion for consumers, families, schools, employers, and agencies. Demonstrate devices, manage device loans, deliver training, conduct assessments, facilitate train‑the‑trainer sessions, and offer technical assistance and consultative services. Offer services on both complimentary and fee‑based basis. Oversee the equipment loan program. Collaborate closely with NICAT Program staff statewide and with EIPD counselors to provide comprehensive services across multiple Eastern NC counties. Qualifications Broad knowledge of assistive technology, including devices, services, and resources supporting individuals with disabilities and/or medical limitations. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with people with disabilities, families, staff, and other professionals. Problem‑troubleshooting, planning, and technical assistance abilities across various settings. Independent work capability, adaptability, professionalism, and service quality. Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $41,206 - $72,113 (based on qualifications). Recruitment Range: $41,206 - $50,000. Eligible for hybrid‑teleworking schedule with weekly onsite hours.
