Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager PositionHamilton Connections is seeking candidates for an engineering manager position at a manufacturing company in Bethel CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity. The engineering manager is responsible for leading the engineering function for the design, development, customization, and continuous improvement of linear motion products and engineered assemblies. The hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary range is $100,000-$145,000 a year, depending on experience.Job Responsibilities:Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through productionOversee the design, development, modification and improvement of linear motion products, assemblies, and systemsEstablish engineering priorities and allocate resources to support business objectivesDevelop and maintain engineering standards, processes and best practicesDesign and validate new products, custom solutions, and engineered assembliesEvaluate customer requirements and develop technical solutions that meet application specificationsPerform product performance analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement activitiesSupport manufacturing and operations in resolving design and production issuesMaintain control of all engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and related technical documentationEnsure engineering documentation is accurate, current and compliant with company quality proceduresManage engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)Provide technical support to customers, distributors and internal sales teamsParticipate in customer meetings, application reviews, and technical presentations as requiredAssist sales with product selection, quotations, special applications, and technical proposals.Respond to technical inquiries and support resolution of customer issuesReview customer specifications, contracts and technical requirements for special products and custom-engineered assembliesEnsure product designs meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements and manufacturing capabilitiesCoordinate project timelines and deliverables across departmentsIdentify opportunities for design, manufacturing and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costsSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability and productivityParticipate in strategic planning for new technologies and product development opportunitiesOther duties as assignedJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering disciplineAdvanced degree or professional certifications are a plus5-10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, automation, motion control, or linear motion systemsMinimum 3 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experienceExperience with custom machinery, engineered assemblies, and product development is highly desirableStrong knowledge of linear motion products, mechanical systems, bearings, actuators, guides, and motion control applicationsProficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam, or equivalent CAD/CAM softwareExperience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably M2M or similar platformsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical standardsUnderstanding of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly and quality controlStrong leadership, organizational and project management abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffective collaboration with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teamsAbility to work in both office and manufacturing environmentsAble to occasionally travel to customer sites, suppliers, or industry events as requiredAble to pass pre-employment screenings
