What You'll Do

As a Utilities Technician , you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical plant utility systems, including:

• Steam Boilers & Combustion Equipment

• Ammonia & Glycol Refrigeration Systems

• Industrial HVAC Systems

• Chillers & Compressed Air Systems

• Thermal Oxidizers

• Wastewater Treatment Equipment

• General Facility Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain plant utility systems.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air equipment.

• Respond to alarms and system abnormalities to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and instrumentation issues.

• Maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and large freezer operations.

• Support facility maintenance projects, including lighting, roof repairs, and building upkeep.

• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

• Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities using computerized maintenance systems.

• Support OSHA, EPA, and company compliance requirements through proper procedures and recordkeeping.

• Help drive equipment reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC, combustion, and refrigeration systems.

• Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial boilers and chillers.

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.

• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Comfortable working throughout a large facility and spending the majority of the shift on your feet.

• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ammonia refrigeration experience.

• Food manufacturing experience.

• Electrical and instrumentation experience.

• OSHA and EPA compliance knowledge.

• Experience with compressed air systems, wastewater treatment, and facility maintenance.

Schedule

2-2-3 Rotating Schedule

Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Candidates must be flexible to work either days or nights as business needs require.

This position is based in a large manufacturing facility where no two days are the same. You'll work with sophisticated industrial utility systems that keep production running around the clock. The role requires mobility throughout the facility, strong technical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83360.00 - $83360.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
