Senior AP Specialist

Senior Accounts Payable Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. This role will take ownership of complex, full-cycle accounts payable functions while ensuring accurate and timely payment processing. The Senior AP Specialist will also serve as a key resource for junior AP team members, partner closely with internal stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency. Location: Onsite Salary: $60,000-$70,000 per year Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and approvals Ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly/biweekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks Reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close activities Research and resolve complex vendor issues, discrepancies, and payment inquiries with professionalism and urgency Review, maintain, and improve AP policies, procedures, and internal controls Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries Mentor and provide guidance to junior AP team members Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams Identify opportunities for process automation, improved controls, and greater efficiency Maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a complex or high-volume environment Strong understanding of GAAP and accounts payable best practices Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite as well as Excel Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Strong written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Equal Opportunity Notice Highspring LLC (d/b/a Vaco by Highspring) and its parents, affiliates, and subsidiaries ("we," "our," or "Vaco by Highspring") are committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race (including but not limited to traits historically associated with race such as hair texture and hair style), color, sex (includes pregnancy or related conditions), religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by applicable law.
