UT Tyler School of Medicine and UT Health East Texas are recruiting a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon for a full-time faculty trauma orthopedic surgery position in Tyler, TX.

This academic orthopedic surgeon job offers high-volume clinical practice, teaching, and mentorship within the first medical school in East Texas. Physicians practice in a large regional referral system with access to a Level I Trauma Center.

About the position:

• A new state-of-the-art orthopedic clinic in the new Medical Education Building
• New Medical Education Building (2026) with 8 operating rooms, robotics, and advanced arthroscopy
• Join a group of 12 physicians ranging in experience from 2-20+ years, with 12 APP's to provide support
• The facility is equipped with MAKO robotic technology, the da Vinci Xi surgical system, a 3T MRI, CT, and in-house imaging.
• Patient volume: 15–25 patients per day
• Case mix: 90% outpatient orthopedic surgery 10% inpatient
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8–5, Friday 8–12
• 4 hours/week of protected administrative time
• Call: 2 in 8

OR: 12 Rooms, 2 Da Vinci Xi, 2 Cysto Rooms

3 Cath Labs, 3 EP Labs, including hybrid OR

ICU: 78 Beds

Labor and Delivery: 14 Beds, 20 Step Down Beds

NICU: 9 NICU Beds, 7 Step Down Beds
