Assistant, LVT, Licensed Veterinary Technician or Technologist

Jefferson Animal Hospital and Regional Emergency Center is a 24/day 365 day/year AAHA Certified animal hospital.What we do:We save lives every day! We see cases ranging from trauma to any and all illnesses that need emergency care. We assist pet owners with understanding their pets' particular situation and help them understand how to best treat their pets illness or injuries. We provide care and support for situations that result in end of life. We work as a close knit team to deliver these services to the pets and their owners in our community with caring and compassionate hearts.What you will do:You will work directly with the Doctors, and the rest of our team to triage and treat pet emergencies and provide wellness care. You will provide care to not only the pet, but the owner providing them with education and support during their pet's emergency. You will spend time educating pet owners regarding all aspects of care. You will work to reach and maintain the high standards of the American Animal Hospital Association that provide the veterinary profession with standards. You will be encouraged to work to the full potential of your accreditation. Our Doctors examine, diagnose, prescribe and perform surgery. Our technicians and assistants provide complete assistance including blood draws, IV Cath placements, positioning and taking of radiographs (digital), anesthetic monitoring, and performing all treatments needed. You will work with other assistants and LVT's who have much more and much less experience than you do, which will allow you to learn and grow. You will be challenged every day! Lounge area with a full kitchen.We are currently seeking Full Time and Part Time Assistants and Licensed Veterinary Technicians for our fast paced emergency environment.Schedule - Being a 24 hour hospital, we are busiest during the evening hours when other clinics are closed. Our flexible schedule can vary from 3p-11p, 4p-MN, 5p-1am. There are opportunities for overnights once training is completed. We also have 10 and 12 hour options after initial training. One weekend day per week is required as well as 1 summer holiday and 2 winter holidays per year. We currently have one daytime opening available. We are very flexible to encourage and allow a healthy work/life harmony. $16-$22 per hour starting pay based on experience. Up to $23 per hour for assistants with advanced experience and a higher potential for LVT's with Emergency experience.
